Dwight Howard To Play This Year In Unexpected Location

If you had on your bingo card 'eight-time All-Star and three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard takes his talents this season to play with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan', you’re a winner. Howard made the announcement himself and he sounds pretty hyped.

”Taiwan, this is Dwight Howard, aka Superman, and I am so so excited and I can’t wait to touch down in Taiwan and start playing for the Taoyuan City Leopards."

He added, "I can't wait to see the fans, eat the food, and have the best time ever and bring a championship to Taoyuan City... "I'm coming with open arms, big hugs and big smiles... Let's gooooo!"

Howard is one of several multi-time All-Stars left without a job as the NBA season got underway a couple of weeks back, and it was just a few days ago that he pleaded for another shot in the league—specifically with one team. His plea obviously went unfulfilled.

The soon-to-be 37-year-old Howard spent 18 years in the NBA, and averaged 15.7 points and 11.8 rebounds in his career, earning eight All-NBA Team honors , five All-Defensive Team selections, plus an NBA title with the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers. He was back with Lakers for the third time last season, but only played 16 minutes a game and averaged six points.
