10-Year NBA Veteran Center Makes Debut In China

After spending time with no less than four teams last season, ten-year NBA veteran center Greg Monroe has headed back overseas, arriving to play in China.

The 32-year-old big man landed with a bang, scoring 25 points in 15 minutes in his debut with the Shanxi Loongs.

After spending two seasons in 2020 and 2021 overseas in Germany and Russia, Monroe signed a number of 10-day contracts last season to give himself another shot at the NBA. He spent a handful of games with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks and Utah Jazz.

Previously, he had a mostly-successful NBA career for many seasons, averaging 13 points with 8.2 rebounds in 646 career games.

Monroe was the 7th pick overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.
