Dallas Mavericks Forward Out Indefinitely With Torn Hamstring

The Dallas Mavericks were hoping for better this season. They're currently sitting in 9th spot in the West, at 14-14. That makes today's news that much more concerning, as they've announced that forward Maxi Kleber is out indefinitely with a torn hamstring.

The injury occurred at practice on Tuesday, and he'll be out indefinitely. The team is still considering the best path forward for Kleber at this point.

Surgery is one of the treatment options being considered.

The Mavs are 1-5 when missing Kleber in the lineup this season, and their frontcourt defense will take a huge hit. Kleber has been a standout defender for Dallas off the bench, while also shooting 37% from behind the stripe. It's a big loss, there's no other way to put it.

Luka Doncic was obviously down about the loss of the big man.

"Obviously, on the defensive end he's one of our better defenders, so we miss him out there. On the defense end he can rebound. And on offense he can shoot and space the floor. We really miss him," said Doncic.
