Donovan Mitchell Says The Raptors "Fouled The Whole Game"

The Cleveland Cavaliers came into last night holding a five-game winning streak. They were also 16-2 at home up until the game against the Raptors. Toronto was 0-7 on Friday games but came out with the victory. After the game, Cavaliers star player, Donovan Mitchell, said that he thought the Raptors "fouled the whole game."

Mitchell was acquired by the Cavaliers in a blockbuster trade from the Jazz in the off-season. So far, he has made an immediate impact. In fact, he had been averaging 32 points during the recent five-game win streak until it was broken by the Raptors. He struggled against Toronto on Friday night and only shot 4-16 from the field and only scored 12 points for the game.

According to Cavs NBA reporter Chris Fedor, Mitchell was not a fan of the defense being played on him. He also didn't like how the officials handled the game and mentioned that "they can foul the whole game and the refs aren't going to call it on each possession." After showing his dismay, he then credited the Raptors for playing "physical" and added that they "kicked our ass."
Donovan Mitchell has struggled against the Raptors this season after fairing pretty well against every other team in the East. In the three games played, Mitchell has had only one good game scoring 31 points in an October matchup. Since then, he has only scored 20 points combined over the last two contests. The main culprit for the scoring slump has been O.G. Anunoby of the Raptors. An early defensive player of the year candidate who is usually matched up against Mitchell.

Mitchell will have some time to figure out how to put up points against a tenacious Raptors defense. The next time the two teams meet will be on February 26th in Cleveland. Until then, Toronto can brag about their defense and are undefeated in their season series so far against the Cavaliers.
