NBA Suspends 11 Players After Wild Pistons/Magic Brawl

The NBA has come down with a sweeping set of suspensions after the ugly incident at Little Caesar's Arena earlier this week. No less than 11 players have been suspended, two from the Detroit Pistons and nine from the Orlando Magic.

The Pistons' Killian Hayes gets the heftiest ban—three games—for knocking Orlando's Mo Wagner unconscious with a blow to the back of the head. Wagner himself gets two games for starting it all by shoving Hayes out of bounds.

Hamidou Diallo gets a game for escalating the fracas by grabbing Wagner after the shove, and eight other Magic players get a game apiece for leaving the Orlando bench area: Cole Anthony, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr., RJ Hampton, Gary Harris, Kevon Harris, Franz Wagner, Admiral Schofield. The suspensions of the Magic players will be scattered over their next couple of games to allow them to have enough players to reach the minimum roster.

The wild altercation began as Hayes and Wagner were chasing a loose ball downcourt and out of bounds:

Wagner aggressively bumped Hayes out of bounds, who then landed hard into the Pistons' bench. Wildness ensued, Wagner was grabbed and Hayes retaliated with the KO punch from behind.

Wagner can be seen stumbling away from the altercation after coming to, appearing to be half-conscious until he gathered himself while holding the back of his head. Wagner was ejected with a flagrant 2 for the original shove, and Hayes was also ejected along with Diallo.
