Damian Lillard Goes Off in Portland Trail Blazers Win Over San Antonio Spurs

Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard got back on track Monday night in a dominant 147-127 win against the San Antonio Spurs. The six-time All Star exploded for 37 points, 12 assists, one rebound, and one steal.

Lillard hit on 12 of his 19 field goal attempts, including a deadly seven of 11 from three-point range. It was the first win for the Trail Blazers since a January 15th victory over the Dallas Mavericks, and only their fourth win in the New Year: they're 4-8 since January 1st.

Despite the Trail Blazers' struggles, Lillard has been spectacular of late. He's averaged 35.6 points and 8.1 assists on .500 shooting over his last nine games. For the season, he's hitting .451 of his shots for 29.3 ppg and 7.4 apg. Unfortunately, it hasn't been enough to lift the Trail Blazers beyond mediocrity: they're 22-25 and 13th in the Western Conference. They'll have work to do just to make the play-in tournament.
