Kings-Rockets Scrap Leads To Two Suspensions

The Houston Rockets have lost guard Jalen Green and forward Jae’Sean Tate to suspension after they left the bench area during an on-court altercation in their Friday night game with the Sacramento Kings.

Both players receive a one-game ban without pay. The salary lost amounts to  $65K for Green and $49K for Tate.

The incident occured after a bump between the Kings' Malik Monk and the Rockets' Garrison Mathews, followed by Monk poking the ball out of Mathews' hands after the whistle.

Mathews clearly didn't take too kindly to the move by Monk, and went at him nose-to-nose. For his initiating of the incident, Mathews was fined $35,000. Monk was dinged $25,000 for "continuing the altercation and taunting Mathews."

Monk and Mathews were both ejected, along with the Kings' Chimezie Metu, for being an “escalator,” and the Rockets' rookie Tari Eason, who the officials deemed an “instigator.”
