Minnesota Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert to Return Against Houston Rockets

The Minnesota Timberwolves' polarizing big man will be back in action tonight. Center Rudy Gobert will start tonight against the Houston Rockets after missing the last three games with right groin soreness. Gobert has appeared in 39 of a possible 48 games for the Timberwolves this season, averaging 13.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game with a solid .679 field goal percentage.

Gobert joined the Timberwolves ahead of this season in a blockbuster trade with the Utah Jazz that included multiple players and multiple first-round picks. The team hoped he could provide a dominant big-man complement to Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards, but early results have been disappointing. The Timberwolves are 24-24, and Gobert's averages are down across the board. Gobert averaged 14.8 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game over his last six years with the Jazz.

The Timberwolves visit the Rockets tonight and the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.
