NBA Rumors: 3 Teams Have Interest In Knicks Guard

The New York Knicks have some trade targets, no doubt, as we get closer to the February 9th trade deadline. Latest word, however, from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, has three teams with serious interest in one of their hottest players, Immanuel Quickley.

Several teams, including the (Milwaukee) Bucks, (Dallas) Mavericks, (Washington) Wizards, and others, have expressed interest in Quickley, league sources told HoopsHype.

However, New York’s previously reported asking price of a first-round pick and Quickley’s improved play amid the loss of RJ Barrett may make it tough for a trade to come to fruition.

There's a simple reason why the Knicks have set a high price for Quickley: He has 'quickly' become one of the Knicks' most important players. In his last dozen games, the 23-year-old point guard is averaging 19.5 points, 4.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds, while shooting 48% from the field.

In eight games as a starter, in place of injured RJ Barrett, he's putting up 20.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.9 rebounds.

The Mavericks' interest is ironic, of course, as they're still desperately in need of someone to replace Jalen Brunson's scoring in the backcourt, after he signed with the Knicks in the offseason.

The Bucks are another contender, and Quickley would be a huge boost for their title hopes. As for the Wizards, they could, among other things, be considering possible trades involving their impending free agent, Kyle Kuzma.
