NBA Rumors: Cavaliers Linked To Two Pistons Trade Targets

We're just over a month away from the NBA's trade deadline. Plenty of names will be surfacing in the rumor mill, many of whom have had plenty of smoke around them already. Bojan Bogdanovic and Saddiq Bey of the Detroit Pistons are two such names, and the Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be interested in both.

The price tag, however, could make it difficult for the Cavs, unless they can get a third team involved.

Detroit’s Bojan Bogdanovic and Saddiq Bey are available and sources confirm that the Cavaliers could be a suitor for either of them. But, the same sources tell Right Down Euclid that the Pistons are looking for a younger prospect or serious draft compensation for either of Bogdanovic or Bey. Considering that the Cavaliers just emptied the clip to get Donovan Mitchell over the summer, pursuing either Pistons wing could prove fruitless.

The Cavs have been looking for another solid wing on the trade market, a perimeter defender who can also knock down threes. They are said to have Caris LeVert available as trade bait to reel in such a player.

How the two Pistons fit into the equation is hard to tell.

While Bogdanovic can knock down threes with the best of them, and showed his defensive toughness on the perimeter last season in the playoffs, on the whole, his defensive rating isn't elite. And Bey, while he came into the league shooting well from beyond the arc, has had trouble from the three-point line the last couple of years, and is hardly an above-average perimeter defender.

There will be a lot of rumors making the rounds in the next five weeks or so; it remains to be seen how the Cleveland/Detroit possibilities will progress.
