NBA Rumors: Over 20% Of League Interested In Pistons Sharpshooter

There's been a lot of talk on the trade rumor circuit this season about Detroit Pistons' veteran and leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic. Now, per NBA Insider Shams Charania, we've learned that 20% of the league—six teams—have registered interest in acquiring him.

The Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles LakersNew Orleans PelicansMilwaukee BucksCleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks are all said to be looking into a trade for the Pistons' sharpshooter. All of the aforementioned would love to boost their shooting from long range, as only the Pelicans (at 12th) among that group rank near the top ten teams in 3-point percentage. The Raptors are dead-last, while the Lakers are 27th.

An earlier report from Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports noted that the Phoenix Suns are another team with interest.

But the price is high: reports say that it'll take, "at the minimum", an unprotected first-round pick to pry Bogdanovic loose. The Pistons signed the nine-year veteran to a two-year extension earlier this year after obtaining him from the Utah Jazz.

Per James L. Edwards, Pistons beat writer for The Athletic, the team is not anxious to trade him, but is listening to offers. They love not on the on-court contributions that Bogdanovic has brought the very young team, but also his leadership.

He tops the Pistons in scoring at 21.2 points per game, a career-high, while shooting a robust 41.5% from long-distance.

The 33-year-old Croatian, if added to a contender like the Bucks, Pels, Cavs or Mavs, could be the missing ingredient to push them over the top.
