NBA Rumors: Toronto Raptors Inform Teams Of Their Timeline To Make Trade Decisions

Everyone around the league is waiting for the Toronto Raptors to make their move—or not. Will the struggling team decide to sell at the trade deadline? According to NBA Insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Raptors have informed teams of what to expect:

Because of the Raptors’ disappointing season thus far (they are currently 23-28 and in 12th place in the East), rival teams have been informed that the franchise will make a decision about being a buyer or seller – or standing pat – near deadline day.

The Raptors are currently on a 7-game road trip, the outcome of which will apparently be determining factor. Thus far, they've posted two impressive wins over the Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers, with a loss to the Golden State Warriors sandwiched in between.

So what is the inclination of those around the sport of which way this will go?

NBA Insider Chris Haynes, on his podcast with fellow insider Marc Stein, opined "I do think, ultimately, Toronto will start listening as the deadline surfaces...

"Look, there's been rumblings all season long about not just one, but a few players being unhappy over there. The season has not gone the way they had hoped, and it's a really talented roster... They should be a monster, but it hasn't really necessarily transferred to the court on a consistent basis."

Ten days to go, and counting.
