New York Knicks Guard Jalen Brunson Sets Career-High in Loss to Milwaukee Bucks

The New York Knicks fell short against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday in a 111-107 loss, but they got everything they could have asked for out of point guard Jalen Brunson. The 2022 free-agent addition totalled a career-high 44 points on 30 shots and almost single-handedly kept his team in the game all night. Brunson hit 15 of his 30 field goal attempts and all 10 of his free throws while adding seven rebounds and four assists. Julius Randle was next the leading scorer on the Knicks, scoring 25 on an eye-popping 29 shots, but the pair couldn't overcome a strong night from a deep Bucks team: seven players scored 10 or more points.

Brunson has been a huge hit since joining the Knicks in free agency before this season after four years with the Dallas Mavericks. He has thrived in an expanded role, scoring a career-high 21.6 points per game on a career-high 16.6 shots per game. He has lifted the Knicks to a 22-19 record this season; they finished a disappointing 37-45 in 2021-2022. They'll have a great chance of at least making the play-in tournament at the end of the year.
