Nikola Jokic Posts Another Triple-Double in Denver Nuggets Win Over New Orleans Pelicans

The Denver Nuggets had their superstar back in action on Tuesday night in their closely contested 99-98 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Nikola Jokic picked up where he left off after a two-game absence, compiling 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists for his 15th triple-double of the season.

Jokic hit 11 of his 15 field goal attempts, including the game-winner. The game lifted his already incredible season averages to 25.1 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 9.9 assists per game, with an excellent .629 field-goal percentage. It was also his fourth triple-double in as many games and his sixth over the past seven.

The Nuggets are a Western Conference-best 34-14, thanks in large part to Jokic's incredible play. As impressive as his traditional counting stats are, his advanced numbers are even more staggering: he leads the NBA in player efficiency rating, win share per 48 minutes, box plus-minus, and value over replacement player. Jokic is beginning to compile an overwhelming case for a third-straight MVP, and if he can wrap up the season with a title, he could very well lay an unassailable claim to being the NBA's best player.

The Nuggets travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks on Wednesday night.
