NBA Rumors: Rockets' Forward Drawing A Lot Of Interest

He's not a name that's been out there on the trade market, and with good reason: the Houston Rockets don't really want to lose him. Nevertheless, four teams have registered interest in forward Jae'Sean Tate.

The Phoenix Suns, Denver NuggetsBoston Celtics and Washington Wizards have all inquired with the Rockets as to his availability, according to Kelly Iko of The Athletic.

The Rockets aren’t looking to trade the 27-year-old forward who is internally regarded as one of the most important pieces of this youthful roster — but as is the case with any player, if there was a “can’t-turn-down” type offer, it would be considered, those sources said. Tate is highly valued within the organization because of his attention to detail, playmaking ability, unselfish play style and most importantly, his defensive intensity and versatility.

After missing 35 games at the beginning of the season due to an ankle injury, Tate finally returned to the rotation at the beginning of January. He's been on a minutes restriction due to all the time missed, and he's only averaging 20 minutes per game thus far, which accounts for his dip in production this season. He's at 7.3 points per game, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists. His first two seasons saw him average 11.5 points and about 5.4 rebounds.

It remains to be seen if the Rockets will get one of those offers they can't refuse.
