Phoenix Suns Bring In A Shooter In Continued Roster Re-Tooling

The Phoenix Suns are still basking in the glow of the Kevin Durant trade, but they aren't done adding yet. After losing a couple of key perimeter players in Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson in the KD deal, the Suns are signing Terrence Ross, who's arranged for his buyout with the Orlando Magic.

It was only yesterday that the Dallas Mavericks had emerged as a frontrunner to sign Ross after his buyout was finalized, but the Suns, according to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, brought in the heavy artillery of new team owner Mat Ishbia and coach Monty Willams to "join the pursuit" of Ross, to help convince him to join the newly-reconstituted championship contender.

T-Ross has a big job ahead of him to replace the perimeter shooting of the departed Johnson (45.5% from three this season) and Bridges (38.7%). The 32-year-old Ross is, however, having a strong year from distance himself, hitting on 38% of this threes (he's a career 36.2% mark from outside). Overall, however, Ross was averaging 8.0 points and 2.0 rebounds with the Magic in reduced minutes this season, his lowest marks since his rookie year.
