NBA Trade Rumors: Clippers & Celtics Talking Jaylen Brown Trade

The Jaylen Brown trade rumors have really ramped up in recent days, with a new team now entering the mix, in the Los Angeles Clippers.

It's all part of the latest rumored Giannis Antetokounmpo three-team blockbuster.

Grant Afseth of Dallas Hoops Journal tells us about the 3-team trade that could go down:

“A potential multi-team trade framework making the rounds in league circles would bring Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Boston Celtics and send Jaylen Brown to the Los Angeles Clippers, with the Clippers’ No. 5 overall pick going to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the return, sources told Dallas Hoops Journal.”

Boston Celtics receive:

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo

Los Angeles Clippers receive:
  • Jaylen Brown

Milwaukee Bucks receive:
  • Clippers No. 5 overall pick, 2026 NBA Draft
  • Plus...

The Celtics have remained in a two-horse race to try to land Giannis, with the Miami Heat. But alas, they'll have to give up Brown to get it done.

The Bucks, however, apparently aren't interested in acquiring the Celtics' star and the massive contract commitment he comes with. But kicking off their rebuild, post-Giannis, with the No. 5 pick? That could intrigue them. Adding to their already existing No. 10 pick, that would be a big jumping-off point for the rebuilding team.

Could LA Clippers land Jaylen Brown as part of Giannis trade?

On the Clippers' side of things, landing Brown, to potentially go with Kawhi Leonard (if he isn't traded, or has his contract voided), and their other recently-acquired young stars like Bennedict Mathurin and Darius Garland, would put them in an enviable spot as a team to be reckoned with in the West next season.

Brown, 29, is a five-time All-Star and averaged a career-high 28.7 points this past season to go with 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 71 games.

Other teams interested in trying to pry Brown out of Boston include the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, and Portland Trail Blazers
