Toronto Raptors' Fred VanVleet Set For Return

The Toronto Raptors should have their key guard back in action Tuesday against the Chicago Bulls. According to the NBA Injury Report, Fred VanVleet has been cleared to return for tomorrow night's matchup.

VanVleet has missed three straight games for personal reasons. He hasn't appeared in a game since the Raptors defeated the Orlando Magic 123-113 on February 14th. His personal reasons may not be a cause for concern: he welcomed his third child and celebrated his 29th birthday over the last week.

VanVleet has appeared in 50 games for the Raptors this season, averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game. However, his efficiency has been a concern this season: he's averaging a .394 field goal percentage and a .541 true shooting percentage, both of which are below his career averages. If the 29-year-old intends to maximize free agency this offseason, he will benefit from a hot closing stretch of the regular season. The Raptors are 30-32 and still have a chance at the play-in tournament and even the playoffs.

Following Tuesday's showdown with the Bulls, the Raptors visit the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.
