Warriors File Complaint Against Trail Blazers Over Gary Payton II Trade

The 4-team deadline day trade that saw Gary Payton II return to the Golden State Warriors (and James Wiseman head to the Detroit Pistons, among other moves) continues to be up in the air due to Payton's failed physical. Now the Warriors have filed a complaint with the league against the Portland Trail Blazers for misleading information about his injury.

The NBA has launched a review, and according to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors are "working with the NBA" to try to salvage the deal, while still filing the complaint.

The other players involved were former Warriors' No. 2 overall draft pick James Wiseman, who went to Detroit, Saddiq Bey who went from Detroit to the Atlanta Hawks and Kevin Knox II who went to Portland along with five second-round picks. Payton is expect to be out for three months due to the recurring injury.

The Warriors have a deadline of 9:30 pm Eastern time today to decide whether to keep Payton or rescind the entire deal, in which case all players would have to return to their original teams.
