Woj Reports That 4 Teams Are Pursuing Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is assessing his possibilities. According to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Utah Jazz have given him permission to find out what's out there for him on a buyout before making a decision on his next move. And there appear to be four teams he's already touched base with.

Woj reports that Westbrook's agent has spoken with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and the team that dealt him to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Washington Wizards.

"With the All-Star Break coming, there is time to think things through," added Woj, "none of these teams are in a real rush... There's always a chance Russell Westbrook just finishes out the season under contract, the balance of a $47M deal.

"But there is interest for him, and I think both teams and Westbrook are trying to get a sense of what a role would look like, and how does that set him up for free agency."

Westbrook has spent the past season and a half with the Lakers, and it's been mostly a disaster. He was relegated to the second unit earlier this season, where he has played the role of Sixth Man relatively well, but the fit with the team has never worked, and the Lakers have moved on.

Now, Westbrook gets a chance to as well.
