Kawhi Leonard Nearly Perfect in Los Angeles Clippers Win Over Oklahoma City Thunder

The Los Angeles Clippers got a taste of the old Kawhi Leonard on Thursday night. The two-time Finals MVP was sensational in a dominant 127-105 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, compiling 32 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals.

Leonard hit a ridiculously efficient 13 of his 15 field goals and three of his four free throws over 34 minutes of play. After missing much of the first half of the season, the five-time All-Star is finally rounding into form. Last night was his sixth 30+ point game in his last eleven appearances. After missing all of the 2021-22 season and 20 of the first 27 games of this season, Leonard has appeared in 40 of the Clippers' last 50 games.

The Clippers are 39-35 and fifth in the Western Conference. They're in the middle of a densely packed dogfight as the NBA postseason approaches: only three games separate the fourth-seeded Phoenix Suns and the 12th-seeded Utah Jazz. If the Clippers intend to avoid the play-in tournament, they'll need Leonard to continue his dominant play in the coming weeks, particularly since running mate Paul George is set to miss multiple weeks with a sprained knee.

The Clippers are back in action Saturday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.
