NBA Rumors: Key Toronto Raptor Figure Linked To Houston Rockets

The rumblings are starting early. After a disappointing season for the Toronto Raptors (pending any unexpected playoff success), the rumor mill is already grinding about the future of head coach Nick Nurse. And the Houston Rockets are the destination he's being linked to.

According to Toronto Raptors Insider Doug Smith:

Conversations over the past 10 days or so with people closely connected to Atlantic Division rivals of the Raptors, and others with direct ties to the league, have begun to focus on the coaching situation as much as anything to do with the roster.
The Nurse questions, which have come from scouts, front office officials, assistant coaches and people on the periphery of the league, have been presented in two forms: Is his time here at an end? Should, or would, the Raptors make a change just to infuse the franchise with a new energy?
And the other part, the Houston part, just won’t leave the rumour mill.

Smith says one scenario would have current New York Knicks advisor Gersson Rosas, a former Rockets executive, returning to Houston and trying to bring Nurse with him.

This isn't the first time Nurse has been linked to the Rockets, and depending on how the Raptors' season finishes, it probably won't be the last we've heard of it, either.

What would the Raptors do to replace Nurse if he was to be let go? The rumors going around have former deposed Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka as a prime replacement candidate.

This should be a very interesting summer in The Six.
