New York Knicks' Jalen Brunson Aggravates Foot Injury

The New York Knicks may be without their prized free-agent acquisition for a little while longer. Jalen Brunson aggravated a left foot injury in last night's 122-117 loss to the Sacramento Kings, exiting after a little over 19 minutes. He did not return.

Brunson hit six of 12 field goal attempts for 19 points, adding two rebounds and two assists. He had missed the previous two games with a foot injury and appears poised to miss more. He's averaging 23.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game over his 62 appearances this season.

Brunson joined the Knicks in free agency this season and has helped the team to evolve into a credible postseason threat. They're 39-29 and 5th in the Eastern Conference after finishing the 2021-22 season 37-45 and appear to have clawed their way out of the morass that kept them out of the playoffs for eight of the previous nine years.

Brunson's next chance to see the court will be against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.
