Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid Dominates in Win Over Minnesota Timberwolves

The Philadelphia 76ers crushed the Minnesota Timberwolves 117-94 on Tuesday night thanks to another overpowering performance from Joel Embiid. The six-time All-Star logged 39 points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and three blocks.

Embiid hit 13 of his 22 field goal attempts, including four of four from three, and sunk all nine of his free throw attempts. It was his 36th 30+ point game of the season. He's averaging an NBA-best 33.3 points per game this season, along with 10.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists. His volume is even coming at remarkable efficiency; his .647 true shooting percentage is his best ever. He may be the NBA's most unstoppable scorer.

The 76ers are 43-22 and third in the Eastern Conference but are a bit of an afterthought due to the dominance of the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics. Maybe that's why Embiid's incredible play is flying under the radar; he's set to lead all players in points per game for the second consecutive year. If not for yet another transcendent season from Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, Embiid would be a worthy MVP candidate.
