Trae Young Ejected For Abusing Official

NBA players' rising tensions with on-court officials continued on Saturday, as the Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young was ejected for firing the basketball at a referee.

Young was peeved at an offensive foul call he received on the previous play. He was given a tech and ejected after firing a hard chest pass at the ref. It's his 15th tech of the season, leaving him one away from an automatic one-game suspension.

This is just the latest in a string of incidents involving NBA officials. Just two days ago, an irate Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said he would be filing an official protest with the league after demanding that officials reverse a controversial call that cost them a game against the Golden State Warriors.

Earlier in the month, Fred VanVleet of the Toronto Raptors blasted the refs in general, and Ben Taylor in particular, which apparently led to a demotion for the official.

It wouldn't be surprising to see the league step in to try to somehow calm the waters between players and officials, which are obviously quite stormy at the moment.
