BREAKING: Philadelphia 76ers Star Captures First Career MVP Award

After back-to-back MVP seasons for Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, he was in the running for a very rare feat with his third straight Most Valuable Player Award, but after another dominant campaign, he has been dethroned by a very deserving star in the Eastern Conference.

That would be Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid, who finally overcame two straight second place finishes to earn the first MVP Award of his remarkable career, just one night after his 76ers took a 1-0 lead over the Boston Celtics in their Eastern Conference Semi-Final matchup.

On the year, Embiid averaged 33.1 PPG, 10.2 RPG and 4.2 APG, while also notching 1.7 BPG and 1.0 SPG, all while leading the 76ers to a No. 3 seed finish in the Eastern Conference, and despite the competition, he was always the favourite for a much-deserved award.
