NBA Rumors: New York Knicks Could Still Pursue Home Town Star In A Trade

The New York Knicks by all metrics had an incredibly successful 2022-23 NBA Season, and they did so after passing on a deal for Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz last off-season, but despite beating him in the playoffs, they still reportedly have a major desire to bring the home town kid to the Knicks at some point.

According to a report, the Knicks still have a major desire to trade for Mitchell, after the Cavaliers did so last off-season, and with his explosive output throughout the regular season, there's no doubting that while defensively pairing him with Jalen Brunson may not fit Tom Thibodeau's style, they would be an incredible offensive duo.

Ultimately, the asking price from Utah was way too much for the Knicks, and they made the correct decision in moving on from the deal, but if they can find a way to make a better deal with Cleveland, expect the Knicks to target him once again in the coming years.
