Breaking: Young Guard Signs Big Extension With The Atlanta Hawks

The past 18 months in the NBA has been full of massive trades and crazy player movement, but one move that perhaps goes overlooked was the Atlanta Hawks giving up significant assets to the San Antonio Spurs to land star guard Dejounte Murray to pair with Trae Young.

Now, one year later, the team have come together with Murray on a four-year extension worth $120 million, signalling that this team believes the best way to go forward is with this backcourt that made up the majority of their production in 2022-23.

Individually, Murray averaged 20.5 PPG along with 6.1 APG and 5.3 RPG in 74 games, and while the team still have plenty of work to do if they want to compete with the likes of Miami, Milwaukee and Boston, this secures their future in the backcourt.
