NBA Rumors: Philadelphia 76ers Star Not Expected To Request Trade For Now

 

For weeks now, the rumours surrounding Joel Embiid have him heading to the New York Knicks at some point in the future, but despite the consistent speculation, no signs of a trade request from the reigning MVP have come close to fruition. 

Now, even after the reported trade offer from New York, the latest report on the situation is that it's not expected that Embiid will request a trade until next summer, if the request from the MVP is to come at all.

With the James Harden situation ongoing and the increased competition from New York, Boston, Milwaukee and Cleveland in the Eastern Conference, if the Sixers can't go on a deep run this year, a trade request would make sense, but for now, it's clear that Embiid and the 76ers are focused on the upcoming season.
