DeMar DeRozan's Future With Bulls Also Being Discussed
The bomb dropped earlier on Tuesday that the Chicago Bulls were willing to talk trade for their two-time All-Star guard Zach LaVine, leading many to believe that the team was ready to blow it all up and start a full rebuild.
But then came word that the team was still interested in re-signing impending free agent DeMar DeRozan. And confusion reigns.
Sources say Chicago would like to bring back DeMar DeRozan, who is on an expiring deal.

The two sides have discussed an extension but remain apart on years and salary, and DeRozan wants to see where the Bulls go before committing to a return.

Sources have told Shams Charania of The Athletic that the Bulls would like to bring DeRozan back, and the two sides have discussed an extension.
He adds, however, that they remain far apart, and that the 6-time All-Star "wants to see where the team goes before committing to a return". In other words: if the Bulls start to tear it down by trading LaVine, it's doubtful that DeRozan would want to stay.
The Bulls need to figure out just which direction they're going, or they'll have our heads spinning like this DeRozan assist:

DeRozan is averaging 21.2 points and 4.5 assists this season, none prettier than that one.
