NBA Trade Rumors: 4 Contenders Battle It Out For Dejounte Murray

Multi-talented Atlanta Hawks combo guard Dejounte Murray is now the biggest name expected to be moved before the trade deadline on February 8th. Atlanta is looking to re-tool their squad, and Murray should bring back a huge haul, as he could be the difference for a playoff contender to take that next step to the Finals.

He's also on a favorable contract, with an extension kicking in next season at four years, $114 million.

Four teams who imagine themselves as serious title contenders with Murray on board are duking this one out:

Miami Heat

Murray has ramped these rumors up by posting on Instagram a shot of the Heat's retired sweaters in the rafters of the Miami arena.

He then went out and put up a monster game leading the Trae Young-less Hawks to a victory over the Heat, including the game-winner.

With a weakened backcourt, Murray would be a huge add for the Heat

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks are looking for that big third wheel behind Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, and a recent report from Insider Chris Haynes says Milwaukee is indeed interested in Murray.

New York Knicks

The Knicks have been soaring since acquiring OG Anunoby, winning 9 of their last 11 games. But since trading Immanuel Quickley in that OG deal, the Knicks have been looking to add another big backcourt piece, and Murray's name has been strongly linked to their search.

Los Angeles Lakers

Once again, the Lakers are looking for another All-Star to join LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and the rumors have been swirling for weeks about talks with the Hawks about a Murray trade. Also, Dejounte is a Klutch client, which naturally ties him to L.A.

We reported recently on the Lakers' most recent package they've offered to the Hawks.
