NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors Open To Major Shake Up

With the NBA trade deadline just a week and a half away, there are plenty of big names on the rumor mill. Perhaps the biggest team name making the rounds now is the Golden State Warriors. With the season not playing out the way they'd hoped, the word is that they're open to a major shake-up, and are taking calls on not only Andrew Wiggins and Chris Paul, but even on Klay Thompson.

According to NBA Insider Shams Charania on his Run It Back pod, the Warriors are going to "take calls on Andrew Wiggins, Chris Paul, could they get interest on a guy like Klay Thompson?... those are very much open conversations for the Warriors."

Would Steph Curry give the 'ok' to trade his longtime Splash Brother? Seems sort of unlikely, but the team is certainly skidding down a slippery slope as is. The sit 12th in the Western Conference at 19-24, and are three games back of the Play-In.

Warriors beat writer Anthony Slater of The Athletic writes that Wiggins still remains the most likely to go, as the team is considering player-for-player trade offers for him. He is having his worst offensive season ever, averaging just 12.3 points and shooting just 31% from long range.

Thompson, turning 34 next week, is having his worst season in 10 years, averaging 17.6 points while shooting a career-low 42% from the field, and tying his lowest three-point percentage, at 38.5% (still not too bad, mind you).

The Dubs are looking to cut down on their massive luxury-tax penalties, and all three of Wiggins, Paul and Klay are making huge salaries that would drastically reduce their financial commitments.

Could be a very interesting time in The Bay over the next 10 days.
