NBA Free Agency Rumors: 4 Potential Destinations for Paul George

We keep hearing about how the Los Angeles Clippers are hopeful of being able to retain Paul George this off-season as he gets set to opt out of his contract and become a free agent. But so far, no deal has been reached, while his partner in crime Kawhi Leonard got his extension from the Clips nearly 5 months ago.

Several teams around the NBA are holding out hope that they'll be able to bid on George in free agency, and we look now at four potential destinations for PG:

Philadelphia 76ers

This is the one we've been hearing about ad nauseam for several weeks. The Sixers desperately want that third All-Star to team up with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Per insider Jake Fischer, "The Sixers are willing to spend future money and sacrifice draft capital, league sources told Yahoo Sports, in the name of chasing next year’s title." They have options and an attractive situation to try to lure the 9-time All-Star.

Orlando Magic

Fischer says that many executives around the league are labeling the Magic as a "viable suitor" for PG. With big men Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner up front, adding an All-Star wing who can shoot threes (41% this season, nearly 39% for his career) would be a huge get. And the Magic have the money to spend.

New York Knicks

Ah yes, another team that is always trying to find that next superstar to join their ranks, the Knicks, it's said, will exhaust every avenue possible to bring in some All-Star help for Jalen Brunson on the offensive (and defensive) end this summer. George is a fit.

Miami Heat

As noted by Fischer, "Miami has the players and picks to barge into any superstar conversation." They still have to get Jimmy Butler's name on an extension, for which he is eligible this summer. But once they get that business done, adding a superstar like PG could take them back into championship contender status.
