“Attempts in New Orleans to trade Brandon Ingram have intensified in recent days", league sources tell NBA insider Marc Stein. "Sources tell The Stein Line that on Ingram's side, with the reality that the contract extension terms his camp had hoped for are not forthcoming from the Pelicans, there has likewise been exploration of trade options.”
Ingram was looking for a max extension that he became eligible for this offseason, but the Pels aren't in the mood to give it to him, feeling their team has gone as far as it can in its current iteration.
The top 3 landing spots for Ingram are seen as:
- Sacramento Kings
- Cleveland Cavaliers
- Miami Heat
The Kings feel like the top suitor for Brandon Ingram if the Pelicans continue to shop the All-Star forward.

If Sacramento’s pursuit of Lauri Markkanen falls short, Ingram should be next in line. Kevin Huerter and draft compensation would likely be included in any deal.
