NBA Trade Rumors: 3 Dream Trade Targets for Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons were trying to stave off elimination on Tuesday night against a tough New York Knicks squad in their first-round playoff series. But no matter the results, the Pistons made huge strides this season, upping their win total by 30 games.

Next year, they'll be hoping to take the next steps up the ladder in the East, but they'll need more help. With that, we take a look at three dream trade targets this summer, all fitting a need on the wing, with the help of Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report.

Jalen Green, Houston Rockets

The Rockets made a significant improvement themselves this season, but find themselves down 3-1 to a veteran Golden State Warriors team in their first-round series. Finishing with 52 wins and the 2nd seed in the West just won't be enough to get Houston over the hump, so they will be looking to do something drastic this offseason, and perhaps Green could be on the trade block.

With Cade Cunningham set as the Pistons' star point guard of the future, maybe the man selected right after him, at No. 2, in the 2021 NBA Draft, Green might be answer. He'd fill the dynamic scoring void they have on the wing, and fit right in with Cunningham and center Jalen Duren, and at 23 years of age, the current Rockets star would also be on the Pistons timeline, as Buckley notes.

Keegan Murray, Sacramento Kings

The Kings had a chaotic season, having to trade All-Star guard De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs. But are they ready to give up on their current group? Per Buckley, "If Sacramento looks for another win-right-now splash to complement the Domantas Sabonis-DeMar DeRozan-Zach LaVine trio," they may be willing to give up on the young forward Murray.

Bennedict Mathurin, Indiana Pacers

In keeping with the same theme, Mathurin is on the same timeline as all of the above, and if the Pacers are also looking to shake things up this offseason, perhaps they'd consider a move with their sixth man, who, as Buckley noted, "generated some buzz ahead of this season's trade deadline.
