Top 10 NBA Unrestricted Free Agents For Summer of 2025

As we get closer to the summer, teams around the NBA are starting to gear up for the free agent frenzy. We'll take a look at a list of the Top 10 unrestricted NBA free agents for 2025 — but we'll consider only those that will truly and undoubtedly be "on the market" free agents.

The following list does not include those stars who have a player option and could potentially opt out to be come a free agent, as most of the bigger names, like LeBron James (LA Lakers), James Harden (LA Clippers), Kyrie Irving (Dallas Mavericks) and Julius Randle and Naz Reid (Minnesota Timberwolves) are all expected to re-sign and stay put.

There are also top players who are on a team option (Fred VanVleet, Houston Rockets) or are restricted free agents (Josh Giddey, Chicago Bulls). Those two, as well, are fully expected to re-sign with their current teams.

The following list are the top full available players on the free agent market as full UFAs:

Centers

  • Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers
  • Brook Lopez, Milwaukee Bucks
  • Clint Capela, Atlanta Hawks

Swingmen/Forwards
  • Malik Beasley, Detroit Pistons
  • Caris LeVert, Atlanta Hawks

Point Guard
  • D’Angelo Russell, Brooklyn Nets
  • Dennis Schroder, Detroit Pistons
  • Chris Paul, San Antonio Spurs
  • Malcolm Brogdon, Washington Wizards
  • Spencer Dinwiddie, Dallas Mavericks

Not all of these will hit the open market either, as the Pacers are highly motivated to re-sign Turner, while the Pistons would be silly to let Beasley go after his excellent season, and the feeling certainly seems mutual:

"In my 9 years in the NBA, I've never had as much fun coming to the gym. Only this year, I've been through a lot. Coming in every day has probably been the best thing that has happened to me. This is definitely a place where I want to be," said Beasley.

He was 2nd in the NBA in made three-pointers this past season, and shot 41.6% from long range.

According to Christian Romo in the Detroit Free Press, in addition to Beasley, it appears that the Pistons will be making re-signing Schroder a priority, as well. The well-travelled point guard played for three teams this season.

The one wild card as a restricted free agent who could make his way onto a list of top free agents is Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors. He fell out of the team's rotation at the end of the season and is an afterthought in the ongoing playoffs. The Warriors will likely look to find a taker in a trade for him.
