Knicks Trade Rumors: 3 Under-The-Radar Trade Targets for Knicks

A promising season for the New York Knicks has come to an end, as they bowed out of the NBA playoffs Saturday night with loss in Game 6 to the Indiana Pacers. So what's next for the team?

Some players won't return, and some new additions will be brought in. Sure, the Knicks will always be linked to some of the biggest names on the free agent and trade markets, but who are some truly realistic names they could add.

Here, with the help of Zack Buckley of Bleacher Report, we take a look at three under-the-radar trade targets for New York.

Keon Ellis, Sacramento Kings

An ideal fit for this Knicks team, Ellis would bring the kind of defensive intensity that head coach Tom Thibodeau adores. The 25-year-old is an undrafted shooting guard who took a huge step up into becoming a major fixture in the Kings' rotation. With 1.5 steals per game, and a sensational 43.3% mark from three-point range. He's got an extremely affordable $2.3 million team option.

Cole Anthony, Orlando Magic

The 4th year point guard saw his minutes and production decline significantly this past season in Orlando, as the coaching staff lost confidence in him. But he's proven himself in past years to be a good scorer and distributor, and would make for a nice backup behind Jalen Brunson. And as Buckley notes, just like Brunson, he's the son of an ex-Knick (Greg Anthony).

Sam Hauser, Boston Celtics

Boston needs to cut salary this summer, and with Hauser's new four-year $45 million extension kicking in next season, bumping him up from $2M to over $10M, he could be one of the players they try to move. Hauser is an elite floor-spacer, shooting 42% for his career, consistently, from the three-point line. As Buckley notes, "his ability to keep defenses honest could give Jalen Brunson some badly needed breathing room." He'd be a great piece off the bench for the Knicks.
