NBA Rumors: Spurs Go Silent After Turning Down Suns' Durant Trade Offer
While the San Antonio Spurs seemed to have been Kevin Durant's first choice for a trade destination, it doesn't appear that the feeling is mutual at this point, at least not at the cost the Phoenix Suns are trying to extract.
The Spurs turned down an offer from Phoenix that would have sent San Antonio's Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle and/or the No. 2 overall pick in this month's NBA Draft to the Suns in return for Durant.

San Antonio declined & they feel the price for Durant “is too high,” & talks “are not going very well” on the Spurs’ end.
Thoughts? 🤔

The Spurs felt the price was "too high" according to Kirk Goldsberry, who also said that talks “are not going very well."
So much so, in fact, that the Spurs have gone radio silent now on the whole KD trade thing, according to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points.
Sources: The Spurs, one of Kevin Durant's preferred destinations, have gone silent over the last 48 hours despite no clear momentum on a trade.

Siegel says the Spurs have gone "ominously" quiet and wonders if they're "truly in the Durant sweepstakes, or are they plotting something else?"
He goes on to confirm that the Spurs "won't be trading the second-overall pick" in any potential deal for Durant, or anyone else.
