Breaking NBA Free Agent Signing: Jared Butler Agrees To Deal With Western Team

After a solid run to finish the 2024-25 season with the Philadelphia 76ers, Jared Butler has inked a free agent deal to join the Phoenix Suns.

It's a one-year contract for the 24-year-old, who had the best run of his career in 28 games in Philly to finish last season, averaging 11.5 points, 4.9 assists, & 1.1 steals, along with shooting 35% from three, playing 24.4 minutes per game.

Butler was considering overseas offers from EuroLeague teams Partizan and Olympiacos this summer, but gets a deal to remain in the NBA.

The 6-foot-3 combo guard was the 40th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Butler has also suited up for the Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Utah Jazz across his four NBA seasons.

For the Suns, Butler is a nice combo guard who can handle the rock, and joins Devin Booker, Jalen Green, Grayson Allen and two-way rookie Koby Brea in a strong shooting backcourt. But no true, proven starting point guards among the group. And now, it's been confirmed that Booker will once again take over as the starting point guard. That didn't work so well the last time they tried it, in 2023-24.
