Miami Heat Set Massive Price Tag on Andrew Wiggins Trade

The Miami Heat are aware that the Los Angeles Lakers would like to swing a deal for Andrew Wiggins, and Heat president Pat Riley is really trying to turn the screws on his old team.

Reports from Lakers insider Jovan Buha are that the Heat are trying to extract a huge package from LA in exchange for Wiggins:

The Heat want Rui Hachimura, Dalton Knecht, and a first-round pick in return for Wiggins, Buha said on his podcast

"The Lakers still need to add a defensive starting wing that complements (their other players)... I don't think it's easy to find this type of wing... They're in a tough spot to try and figure this out.

"The Miami asking price needs to drop."

Wiggins was dealt to Miami last season from the Golden State Warriors as part of the huge Jimmy Butler trade. Wiggins was an All-Star and helped the Dubs win the NBA championship in 2022. He averaged 18 points this past season with 4.5 boards, and shot 37.4% from the three-point line.

Buha mentions several other wings that the Lakers could be targeting if Riley doesn't bring his price down, including the recently traded Jrue Holiday (now with Portland), Keegan Murray (the Kings have no interest in trading him), Bennedict Mathurin (the Pacers are unlikely to move him), Derrick Jones Jr., Ochai Ogbaji, Royce O'Neal, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Matisse Thybulle.
