The 5'7" point guard with the huge heart, Markquis Nowell, played a total of one game in the NBA, with the Toronto Raptors in the 2023-24 season. He spent last season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League. In 49 games, he showed his skills there, averaging 16.1 points and 8.4 assists in 30.9 minutes per game. His next stop as a free agent? Spain.

Nowell has signed a deal with Baskonia.

The Harlem, NY native was a force in the backcourt in his college days, as he set the record for assists in an NCAA Tournament game with 19. In 2023, he received the Bob Cousy Award for best point guard in college basketball.

His final year at Kansas State, in 2022-23, he averaged 17.6 points, 8.3 assists, 2.55 steals per game and a pretty impressive 3.5 rebounds for a 5-foot-7 guard.
