Boston Celtics Rumors: Stunning Report on Jayson Tatum's Comeback
When he went down to a torn Achilles in the NBA Playoffs last spring, everyone naturally assumed that Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum would miss the entire 2025-26 season.
But buzz is growing around the Association that Tatum, who has been ramping up his rehab to unheard of levels, could actually be back before the regular season is even done.

Insider Jake Fischer said on his Bleacher Report Insider Notebook that Tatum could rejoin the team in March.
“What does this mean in terms of Jayson Tatum’s ultimate return? That there’s definitely buzz that Tatum could potentially be back sometime in March (…) They probably made vast improvements in surgery and recovery. That is certainly true.”
Just four months after his Achilles surgery, Tatum has resumed on-court workouts, including lifting, running, and shooting.
The Celtics, meanwhile, spent the summer getting under the onerous second apron, and have unloaded two of Tatum's 2024 Championship teammates in Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday. Boston has instead shifted to a youth-focused rebuild and are tentatively projected for perhaps somewhere around 35 wins for the 2025-26 season.
If they're not in the playoff race come late March, no matter the condition and shape that Tatum and his Achilles are in, it's highly unlikely the Celtics would risk their superstar's future by rushing him back into the lineup this season.
Tatum had his 5th straight season averaging well over 26 points per game this past year, and received his 6th consecutive All-Star nod.
