NBA Rumors: One Team Keeps Saying 'NO' To a Trae Young Trade

The Atlanta Hawks are ready to move on from Trae Young. This has become painfully obvious the past several days (even weeks... months). But which teams are interested? We're getting word from Sam Amick of The Athletic that one team has consistently said "NO" — they aren't interested in the polarizing point guard.

If ever there was a sign of Young’s diminished value, it’s in the fact that even teams that are in desperate need of an offensive boost — like the Sacramento Kings — don’t appear to have interest.

Sacramento has long been rumored as a possible suitor for Young... But a team source indicated on Monday that Sacramento has no interest in Young. That has been the Kings’ stance for quite some time now, and it remains unchanged.

The Kings are desperate for a star point guard after letting De'Aaron Fox go last season (and Tyrese Haliburton a couple of years before that). But still, they have zero interest in Trae.

It's been a stretch to find teams that have been linked to Young, though the Washington Wizards emerged as a possibility on Monday.

"In the absence of clarity regarding legitimate trade suitors for Young, and with league sources indicating that his market was widely considered minimal, it remained entirely possible the Hawks will have to resolve his future in the summertime," writes Amick.

The final straw for Young in Atlanta came when the Hawks looked like a completely different (and competent) team while the volative guard was out for several weeks this season. They went 13-9 on the backs of a significantly improved defense. Then Trae returned — and they immediately went into a seven-game losing streak (five of those with Trae in the lineup).

Young is done in Atlanta — the only question is when, and to where?
