Anderson had a big role in the T-Wolves rotation during the 2022-23 and '23-'24 seasons. He'll rejoin them and get a chance to contribute to the team as they battle it out for home court seeding in the Western Conference playoffs.
He was scratched from the Grizzlies game tomorrow night just hours before agreeing to the buyout on Thursday. He had averaged 9.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in his four games back in Memphis, after 20 games earlier in the season with the Utah Jazz.
Kyle Anderson joins 5th team in two seasons
This will be Anderson's 5th team over the past two seasons, as he started the year in 2024-25 with the Golden State Warriors, then was traded to the Miami Heat. This season, he started the year with Utah, where he posted averages of 7.1 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. He averaged 20.1 minutes per night, while shooting 52% from the field.
Anderson was a first-round pick in the 2014 NBA Draft (30th overall) by the San Antonio Spurs. He began his career there before joining the Memphis Grizzlies for a fairly successful four-year run.
After arriving in Minnesota the first time a few years back, he was part of their 2024 run to the Conference Finals.
His "Slow-Mo" nickname arises out of his calm, methodical pace, as a playmaking "point forward."
