Reports: Bucks 'Are Fascinated' With This Warriors Offer For Giannis Antetokounmpo

"League personnel are on the edge of their seats, anticipating some sort of big trade happening fairly soon." That's the word from insider Brett Siegel of Clutch Points, in regards to the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes.

And it sounds like it's the Golden State Warriors who will be pulling the trigger.

"The Warriors want Giannis. Everyone around the NBA is aware of this, and the Bucks know that too," writes Siegel.

"Right now, the Warriors have been the most aggressive team pursuing Giannis, as the two organizations have talked at length about the idea of a Giannis trade, league sources briefed on the matter told ClutchPoints."

“To this point, the Bucks have not declined the Warriors' offer, sources said. Horst and Milwaukee's front office were fascinated with the idea of acquiring all of Golden State's future assets, but they are also taking their time with coming to a decision, which is not expected to happen until sometime within the 24-hour mark until the trade deadline.”

The deadline hits at 3pm Eastern on Thursday.

Taking into consideration the "all of the Golden State's future assets" part of this, the Warriors' offer is likely to include most/many of the following:

  • Draymond Green
  • Jonathan Kuminga
  • Moses Moody
  • Brandin Podziemski
  • 2026 first-round pick
  • 2028 first-round pick
  • 2030 first-round pick
  • 2031 first-round pick swap
  • 2032 first-round pick

Of course, many eyebrows are raised about the inclusion of Draymond, but Siegel writes that Green could agree to do this, and then activate his opt-out at the end of the season, and re-sign with the Warriors next year to join Steph Curry, Giannis, and a healthy Jimmy Butler.

The Warriors, in fact, haven't said "no", report Siegel, about the possibility of Green being on the table.

In the end, "the Warriors are all-in on pursuing Giannis and attempting to finalize a trade before Thursday."
