Another Devastating Injury for Lakers

Just a day after learning that superstar Luka Doncic will miss the rest of the regular season and more, the LA Lakers have been handed more devastating news. Second leading scorer Austin Reaves will also be out for about the same length of time, and is also done for the rest of the season.

It's a  Grade 2 oblique injury for Reaves and he is expected to miss four to six weeks. That's it for the rest of the regular season and likely the entire first round of the playoffs.

The Lakers hopes of advancing out of the first round have taken two crushing blows in two days.

Reaves, in this his fifth season in LA, is having a career year. He's averaged a career-best 23.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.1 steals, while shooting 36% from three-point land.

The Lakers, with five games to play before tbe playoffs, have a 50-27 record, sitting in the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference. They are only a game ahead of the Denver Nuggets, however. who hold the final home court edge in the first round.
