Report: Giannis Could Be Headed To Join Former Teammate Out West

The Milwaukee Bucks did everything to appease Giannis Antetokounmpo over the years, including going out and trading for a co-star that he approved of, like Damian Lillard.

The pairing didn't work in Milwaukee, and now Dame is back in Portland. But a new report from Bill Oram of Oregon Live tells us that the two could be reunited—in the Pacific Northwest.

Obviously, Giannis & Dame have a connection, and with the Blazers improving, it could certainly be a place he considers, if & when the Bucks finally relent and trade him.

Trail Blazers are a team to contend with in the West; could try to reunite Lillard with Giannis

The Trail Blazers are proving that they're back in the mix as a team to contend with in the West. They're currently battling the heavily-favored San Antonio Spurs in the first round, tied at 1-1. Lillard has been out all season recovering from a torn Achilles almost exactly a year ago. But he'll be back next year (or maybe even if the Blazers go on a long run this spring?), and he knows that this team has it all to be a contender:

“Maybe because it’s Portland, people aren’t willing to say it,” Lillard said, “but it’s all there. From the talent to the depth, to having it on both sides of the ball. It’s all there.”

As Oram writes, "Since Lillard recommitted to Portland, he has watched Deni Avdija blossom into an All-Star, Donovan Clingan emerge as one of the league’s brightest young centers and Scoot Henderson develop into a defensive force and a knockdown shooter."
