Report: Giannis Antetokounmpo Among Two Huge Timberwolves Moves Under Consideration
The Minnesota Timberwolves failed to get out of the Western Conference once again in these playoffs. A second-round defeat followed two straight years making it to the Conference Finals before falling.
With that in mind, they're eyeing two huge moves.

They are also looking to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Per Minnesota insider Darren Wolfson, the T-Wolves know they can't make it out of the extremely tough West the way they're constituted.
"For the next few years, how do you compete with the Spurs and Thunder? You need another superstar. They would love to acquire Giannis.”
The Wolves were among the teams linked to trade rumors surrounding the Greek Freak back at the deadline in February. They will undoubtedly try again this summer.
Another move which would allow the T-Wolves to have a better chance of making it to the NBA Finals would be getting out of the Western Conference. And Wolfson says that's another huge move they're pushing for. But he adds that it's a few years away at best.
By then, could superstar Anthony Edwards have had enough of finishing second or third fiddle to the Spurs & Thunder?
And that, says Wolfson, is what's behind the team's urgent need to pursue these two moves.
"It's about satisfying Ant. The fear is that at some point, does Ant, through his representation, Bill Duffy and others, signal a desire to be elsewhere? We are nowhere near that point, but the fear is there."
In Milwaukee, it's "Fear the Deer", but in Minnesota, it's "Fear the loss of Edwards." So the Wolves will push hard for Giannis this offseason. But whether he wants to move into the cauldron of the Western Conference is another hurdle the T-Wolves will have to deal with.
