Top 3 Under-the-Radar Free Agents Still On The Market
For teams with a little bit of money still to spend and a roster spot to fill, there are still a number of free agents on the market, some of them in the bargain basement aisle.
Here we take a look at the top 3 under-the-radar, cheap free agents remaining on the market.
1. Brandon Williams, PG
"Guards who can get both feet in the paint outside of transition aren't easy to find. Fortunately for clearance-rack shoppers, Brandon Williams is sitting right here," Dann Favale of Bleacher Report writes.
Williams, the 6'1" point guard had the best season of his career in 2025-26 with the Dallas Mavericks, upping his scoring to 13.1 points per game along with 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 22 minutes a night. He even started 15 of 66 games for the Mavs.
His size, defense, and complete lack of three-point shooting all hold him back, but teams looking for a backup point could do a lot worse than Williams.
2. Gary Payton II, SG
A tenacious defender, Payton has been a Warriors staple off the bench as a shutdown perimeter player for most of the past six seasons. Both sides have mutual interest in getting him back in uniform on another cheap free agent deal, but we're halfway through the summer and it hasn't happened yet. Could another team swoop in and woo him elsewhere?
3 Bruce Brown, G/F
He was back in Denver for the first time since winning the title with the Nuggets back in 2023. He played a solid role in their rotation for all 82 games this past season, averaging 24.4 minutes a night, while scoring about 8 points and pulling down 4 rebounds. He even shot 38.5% from long distance, albeit on minimal attempts.
