It was a non-contact play, which is often the scariest type of injury. You can see his right leg slip a bit as he picks up his dribble. He just called a halt to the play and was able to limp off himself, but not too comfortably.
Head coach Steve Kerr said afterwards that it was an ankle issue, not a knee.
Curry missed 27 games last season due to "patellofemoral pain syndrome" in that right knee, reports Brett Siegel.
He has also had plenty of ankle troubles throughout his career. It looks like he might have slightly rolled his ankle on the play.
This is certainly not the way the Warriors want to start their season.
Steve Kerr just walked back towards the Warriors locker room. Many Warriors staffers (and fans) in a state of disbelief after the Steph injury.

The Warriors visit the LA Lakers on Wednesday night for their respective season openers. Kerr suggests that Curry will be fine. But whether he's ready for Wednesday night remains to be seen.
